Villars
At a height of 1,300m (4,265ft), Villars is set on a sunny plateau above the Rhone valley, with superb views over the Alpes Vaudoises.
It is a relaxing, relatively quiet family resort and is an ideal beginner's resort, with approximately 50 per cent of the 67 ski slopes suitable for this level. Intermediates are also well catered for, with 42 per cent of the pistes, and advanced skiers have 8 per cent of the downhill runs. The resort offers a good range of activities for skiers and non-skiers alike, with excellent sports facilities including a covered ice-rink, indoor tennis and squash, a swimming pool, bowling alley, paragliding and a fitness centre.
